Makoto Minegishi is one of the participants for the offline suicide meeting. His depression is mainly due of the fact that his wife left him when his company went under. Being a previously successful businessman, Minegishi is the one who provided the boat that took the members of the offline meeting to his private island off the coast of Japan to commit suicide together by jumping off a cliff.
After the group's failed suicide attempt, he becomes reunited with his family at the hotel after everyone hears about the whole ordeal.
